India subdivision monsoon rainfall data

Monsoon season total rainfall for 29 meteorological subdivisons over India, 1871 - 2000. Subdivisonal rainfalls are from areally averaged district rainfalls. The district rainfall is computed from averaging all stations in the district. Rainfall amounts (in millimeters) are totals for June, July, August, and September.

The data is consistent from 1871 - 1990 in that it is constructed from a 306 station network, with no missing data. The number and distribution of stations for 1991 - 2000 is unknown.

Data Format

The data file contains 14 records for each subdivison. JJAS rainfall totals are given in millimeters.
First record: Subdivision name, area of the subdivision (kilometers squared), mean of the JJAS subdivisional rainfall (millimeters) for 1871-1994.
Second record: First number is JJAS 1871, next is JJAS 1872, last is JJAS 1880.
Third record: First number is JJAS 1881, next is JJAS 1882, last is JJAS 1890.
. . .

Fourteenth record: First number is JJAS 1991, next is JJAS 1992, last is JJAS 2000.
